Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was home one morning and I heard my neighbour rejoicing that GiveDirectly has sent her transfer. Upon hearing this great news, I ran to the town hall to the place we go to get network. As soon as I got there, I received a message on my phone that I have received my transfer from GiveDirectly. At that moment, I felt very happy and pleased because it has been my dream to build a house but my husband and I could not afford the cost of building a house on our own.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
At first, my husband and I have been surviving on farming. We have to Labour before earning money to send our children to school and their feeding as well. Due to the domestic burden, we could not afford to build our own house. However, since I started receiving my transfer the workload has reduced and I am saving to build my family a house.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought two bundles of zinc, food, clothes and other building materials with my transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
What I plan to do with the cash is to start a business and also build a house. Being a separate household living in a family house is so embracing to me and my household members. The lack of cash has also made me incapacitated to provide for the needs of my family. Having this cash will make me build a house that will allow me and my family to leave the family house. A portion of the money I will use to start a business of my own which will help me raise more money to provide the needs of my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought me happiness in the last 6 months is on July 26, 2021 when I was able to celebrate the birthday of my first son. I lobby with friends to raise money which afforded my son the opportunity to share his natal day with his friends. This occasion made me feel like a successful mother.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge I am currently facing is the lack of cash. The jobs that I do here which give me money are very hard strenuous jobs that always leads to sickness and bodily pain. The business counterparts that carry our goods to the capital city always take our goods on credit. Having a plan of building a house is so much impossible with the above mentioned condition.
