What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have spent my second transfer to buy additional building materials such as iron sheets, timber, nails, gravel stones among others for completing my permanent house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done good in my community by alleviating poverty from our lives since many have been able to build, buy live stock, land and paying off loans. On a personal level, GiveDirectly has relieved me from the stress of sleeping in a grass thatched house. And in my opinion, GiveDirectly has been inch perfect in everything they did.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now beautiful because I sleep in a permanent house. The thatched house I slept in leaked every time it rained and I suffered sleepless nights due to this condition.

I spent my first transfer to construct a permanent house. For this reason, I bought building materials like bricks, sand, cement among others at Ugx 1200000 and paid the builders Ugx 400000. In addition, I bought utensils and food worth Ugx 50000 each.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer from GiveDirectly, I felt very happy together with my spouse. In fact, we ululated and thanked God for the money. We were now sure of fulfilling our plans of constructing a permanent house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I live a much more happy life. This is because I'm soon going to be rescued from the burden of sleeping in an old thatched house which has been leaking and very costly for me to renovate annually. Previously, many pressing needs like school fees couldn't allow me to begin constructing a permanent house since money was not enough.
