Thia money will help me rebuild my house which waas destroyed during cyclone Ana. That will help me to move out of the remporary camp. I will also buy food for my family, currently we are struggling because the rains destroyed every food we had. In addition, at this point of the yead we could have been relying on agricultural haverst but we are unable to do so because the rains destroyed all the crops.
What is the happiest part of your day?
We were happy in December when my husband brought home chicken and other items for christmass. He was paid for the job he was working on that month.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge is the source of income. We rely on selling firewood which we collect from the Mulanje mountain. During this rainy season it is hard..the rock is wet and slippery making the going un ease. Besides, it is illegal to collect or cut trees there, when caught we pay fines. My husband is a builder but during this rainy season it is very hard for him to find jobs.
