Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I saw my neighbor running to me on the farm with information that she has received Givedirectly money. I left my farmwork and took my big son under the network area to check my phone. It was confirmed that I had received money from Givedirectly as well. I can still remember the good feelings I had that day. I was very happy that Givedirectly remembered a common person like me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is relaxation and happiness. I was always worried and I had sleepless nights due to the credit I had for the susu club, but I am now at peace knowing that Givedirectly has solved my problems.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used half of my money to pay a debt I owed my susu club. I used rest of my transfer to pay my children's fees in school and I also bought few food items for my family upkeep.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I will open a provision shop in the town to save money to support my children's education, and take care of some of our needs when I receive the transfer. My husband was working and supporting our children in school and taking care of our needs, but he got fired few years ago and now all of our kids dropped out of school and can't continue their education anymore due to no finance, because my husband hasn't gotten a new Job".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"What really brought joy to my life in the last 6 months was when my daughter's friend paid her exam fees in September. My daughter was about to drop out of twelve grade because I never had money to pay her Wasce exam fees. We all gave up as a family because we never had any where to get money from. My daughter even lost hope. On the day of the exam a friend just called my daughter and told her to get dress in her uniform and go on the school campus, she dressed up and went. She came back in the evening and told me that her friend paid her exam fees but keep it a secret from her until on the day of the exam. I was happy that my daughter didn't dropped out of the twelve but had a complete her exam".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The major challenge I'm facing currently is financial support. My husband got fired from his job few months ago. His job was our only means income, but since he got fired ,to provide for our family is a difficult task. We do hard labor on people farms before we get money it take care of most of our needs since my husband stopped working. No where to get money from easily right now, because my husband hasn't gotten a new Job to support us. Most times we sleep on insufficient meals,my children are out of school, and I can't provide their basics needs. It bothers me that it's affecting my health, causing my blood pressure to go high most of the time"
