What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money means I can be able to invest in farming without any debt. I am thankful to Give directly for coming at such a time since I had lost two acres of maize plantation during the recent floods. The loss was of about $ 400 ,I am yet to pay that money I had borrowed from a microfinance. I will use the transfers to farm and repay the loan comfortably. The produce I will get will feed my family and I will sell the surplus to earn money for other basic needs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The recent floods destroyed everything that I had including livestock and crops in the farm. I rely on farming to earn a living especially chicken, but since I lost all of it I do not have any other alternative apart from casual jobs. It is difficult getting enough money to sustain the needs of my household with casual jobs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My husband got employed on a permanent basis at a nearby school five months ago. I am happy because he had stayed five years without employment and life was difficult. At the moment he is able to pay school fees for our children without much strain and that gives me peace.
