Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I went to make call to my family at the network area and I received the money message from Givedirectly. I was feeling very fine reading the message; happiness is an understatement. I ran back to the town with a joyous shout, informing my neighbors that the money has come. I was the first person who saw the money from our life saver Givedirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Getting money to survive was kinda hard for me; knowing that I now have money to build my house brings me joy everyday.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought fifteen packs of 4inch nails to build a house. I spent some of my money on laborers to cut sticks for my house project. The rest of money was kept to buy zinc.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this cash transfer I will use some to build my own house and use the balance to start a business through which my family needs will be met on time. I have been living in my mother house since I dropped from school due to financial constraints, I moved here to begin a life because ambition to be educated wasn't go as expected. I am now Farming and selling charcoal to earn a living and it is the only means my get food to eat. I will have to do some casual labour jobs for six hundred Liberian dollars ($600LRD) per day to bring food for my family. If I receive this cash transfer I will use some to build my own house and start a business that will help my family livelihood.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What has brought me joy or happiness in the last six is the presence of Givedirectly within our Town to help us with cash transfer. With the kind of hard struggling we do here to live, burning charcoal to sell and sustain our family, doing a casual labour and farming never bring that happiness needed. When I learned that Givedirectly has come to help us with a cash transfer to improve our lives brought me more Joy and happiness because I am it's going to improve lots of our burdens.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges I am currently facing is access to finance. My ambition was to be educated and bring pride to my parents but due to financial constraints I was unable to achieve that. I had no option but return home to help my parents with farm works and start a charcoal business to help sustain the family. Casual labour is another I do to earn some money and we are paid six hundred Liberian dollars ($600LRD) because when the rain season comes and the charcoal business becomes difficult and the only option is to join a casual labour team. Life is not easy on this side.
