Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Presently I have a house which is halfway done. We had put our part of our previous transfers with my late husband but unluckily the money got depleted before we completed the house. I am thinking of saving part of my next transfers to enable me to complete constructing the house. I hope that I would complete it in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Since I lost my husband in the month of July, life has not been that easy for me. I was left with the responsibility of raising my family alone. With the little income which I make from the business which I run I would not get enough income to sustain my family needs. Sometimes I would borrow some money to make ends meet. The money which I would receive from GiveDirectly I would spend to repay debt with less worry as I am guaranteed some cash every month.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I believe in the next six months, I would have completed constructing our house and we would have moved in. Having a new house would be a great difference for us as the house which we live in currently is too old and risky to live in as its almost collapsing.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have bought building materials and I have started the construction of a new house which was not possible before the transfers. I have hope that in the next few months, I will have moved to the new building with my family courtesy of GD transfers.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to continue to save money in the merry go round group that we have in our village. I will use my share to buy a goat which has always been my dream to own.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months proceeding the current transfer is that I have bought building materials such as iron sheets and timber which I'm currently using in building a new house for my family. Immediately when we started to received the money from Give Directly, we started a merry go round group with friends and when it was my turn to receive the money, I was able to buy building materials. We live in a small house which cannot host all my family members comfortable and this has led to a lack of privacy in the house. Whenever I will have visitors at my house they will be so comfortable because of enough space to stay. This will not make me shy away to welcome them to my house anymore
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have started horticulture farming. This project will enable me to get enough food for the family and even sell the surplus at the market to meet the basic needs of the family from the profits I get when I sell surplus harvest.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different because I have been able to keep savings in a merry go round group. I have been saving about KES 2000 every month that I will use in home improvement and in buying a cow. I am almost completing the house I will be living in. The savings is a huge change in my life that will enable me to meet my financial obligations when I have used it to buy a dairy cow.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I don't have a new goal for the next four months but I will continue towards the completion of a house that I am building.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have a regular income from the transfers unlike before when I used to rely on doing menial jobs. The money comes very regularly and this allows me to acquire my daily needs even on credit. Currently, I get foodstuffs for a household that enables me to adequately feed my family even as I await the monthly transfers. I then use the money I get form Give Directly to clear the debt and even buy more as I continue to work on my farm.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect in the next six months to have bought a dairy cow. I will be buying a heifer and continue to rear it to maturity in the aim of becoming a dairy farmer. I also expect to have completed the building of my house which will have given us enough space to live in as a family.
