What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent 15000 KES of my third transfer on opening a boutique. I installed electricity at a cost of 15000 KES in my home. I paid a fee of 5000 KES and used the rest of the money on buying a few households.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now have electricity in my home so I am able to watch news on my television. This keeps me updated. I also have my business thus a source of income thus I easily meet my needs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Gd does well in giving cash direct to recipients without asking them for refunds.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 30,000 KES to pay college fees for my son, spent 2,000 KEs to dig and build a pit latrine in my compound, bought two sheep at 5,000 KES and the remaining amount I spent to pay school fees and food for my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that am now at peace since my son who had completed his high school and could not join a college is now in college and this makes me very happy and proud as a parent. Thank you GD for giving me hope in life.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on enrolment of my child for KCPE Exams (4,000 KES) to enable her seat the exams at the end of the year that will enable her move to Secondary school come next year. I also paid for land ploughing services (2,000 KES) as well as a bag of dry corn for food (3,800 KES) since my family was almost starving.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt completely humbled, because I have a child who was to enroll for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education Examination, but I was agonizing over where the money would come from, and so personally I feel very blessed since the money bailed me out !

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to use part of the transfer in paying school fees for my son in college,and my other three children in Primary school.The rest I will use in buying food for my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is that I have educated my son from nursery school upto college.That makes me so proud.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is that I have food shortage in my house because my last harvest did not yield much due to drought that affected my farm.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the afternoon when I am taking lunch with my family.
