How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because I managed to start a business using the cash transfer l received from give directly and the business has now picked up and is doing really well that I am able to support my spouse in paying bills. I am also glad that I do not depend on my spouse for everything.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Unfortunately or fortunately I do not have any other goal, I will just continue with my business for selling clothes and ensuring that it stands.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that l have managed to achieve my dream of starting a business of selling new clothes. The business is doing very well that I am able to get enough profit for my household up keep and also to support my spouse pay a few bills in the house. This has also killed idleness at home, I do not stay at home as I used to do before, because I have to go to the market every day and sell clothes.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months l expect to continue doing my business making profit and living a better life.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have a bigger stock because I invest 20,000 KES in it,I have experienced an increase in daily income and more customers are now attracted to come and buy from my shop. This has impressed me and even encouraged me to work hard because I have a lot of ease when it comes to supprting my family.

I expect to expand my household plastic business to enable me increase my daily income.

I have a new goal of buying a maize shredder machine which will enable me get more income because I will be doing the work for my neighbours and then they pay.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I once had was lack of school fees for my education. This was when my parents died and I didn't have money and had to drop out of school at class seven
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am from work, and have made some sales and I am coming home with food for my family
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to improve on my business with this transfer. I sell plastics and clothes and therefore,I want to increase my stock so as to enlarge this business.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The proudest achievement I have had is that through my business I have been able to buy a pick up, put up a poshomill in my home, all these are bringing some income to my family.
