How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months in that I no longer buy maize because I bought fertilizer which I appied on the farm for more produce hence I got enough yields. I can say that, I will not buy maize in the next three months
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to build permanent house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I took my wife in a tailoring course and I can say that I am happy because she has a source of income that we use in the house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have bought my wife a sewing machine hence she will be in a position of running her own business. My permanent house will also be complete hence staying in a nice place.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the ease and relief I have gotten when I received the money and managed to buy the building materials at once. The money I was to spend on these things I was able to channel to other developments within the house.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months,hopefully I shall have constructed my permanent house and I will be leading a more comfortable life with more profits from the taxi business given that I will have my own motorcycle.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for GiveDirectly,I would have never managed to buy the building materials.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I do motorcycling taxi business but I do not have my own motorcycle,so my new goal is to purchase my own.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face is paying school fees for my children, this has affected their academic performance because they frequently miss classes and it takes them time to catch up with fellow pupils.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am done with my daily hustles and I find time to have a chat with my family as we recount on events of the day.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer to construct a new house, my current house is dilapidated and its also small for my grown family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The biggest achievement I am proudest of is when I had a bumper harvest of maize, beans and millet. I sold my produce during famine period when prizes escalated and I made good profits that enabled me to buy a motorbike.
