When I received my first lumpsum transfer, I build a semi-permanent house of 3 rooms and I spent on various materials as follows; 18000 KES on 30 Iron sheets, 15000 KES on timbers, 7000 KES on nails, I paid 5000 KES on labor charge and we spent the remaining 5000 KES on food.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I don't need to incur recurrent expenditure of renovating my main house every rainy season as opposed to before when the walls of my main house could be washed away any moments it rains. And therefore GD has enabled me save on this and diversify on other areas of development, the biggest difference in my daily life.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent 1500 KES of my token payment on a 210 L water tank, 3500 KES on a high density mattress, 2500 KES on clothing for my household members, 2500 KES on a sack of maize and the rest of food.
What are you planning to spend your upcoming transfer on?
I will buy more building materials like 40 iron sheets, steel windows and build a better house with my upcoming lumpsum payment.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on building a new house as my current house is leaking when it rains, I will also buy windows for my house as currently I don't have any kind of ventilation on my house, I will use part of my transfer on building a better toilet using cement and slab as currently its walls are covered with polythene bags. The remaining amount I will use to buy three cows that I can pay as dowry to my in laws.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement that I am proudest of is that when I finished my primary school education,I started doing my masonry work which enabled me to get some cash that I used to build my current house for my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face in my life is that my source of income is not stable as at times I can go a day without getting any work and this makes my family to suffer as they are forced to go to bed hungry.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I go out in the morning to look for some house construction job in the village and I succeed to get one,I feel happy as I am able to get money that I will use to buy food for my family.
