How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I want to build another house for myself because the house that I am living in right now belongs to my extended family and my children might not inherit it in the future. I am a driver seeking for job, if I can't find one, I have planned to improve my cassava farm so that I can keep generating money to sustain my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by being straight and fair in their program processes, they are also kind and patient during interviews with us, they help us unconditionally without any strings attached to their help. I have not observe any wrong thing about GiveDirectly program that needs to be changed, everything is okay to me.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"The first and foremost plan I have for this cash transfer is the build a 2-bed rooms house. The house I currently live in is a family properly and family occupied just a single room. The second plan is to start up a small business for my wife. We will open a small shop in the community to sell provisional goods; this will help raising money for food while I continue other tasks to bring in money as well".
What is the happiest part of your day?
" In the last six months, what has made my happy firstly is the gift of life. For the fact that I am sick and I see the dawn of a new day, that brings joy and happiness to me. Secondly, a brother of mine gave me a bag of 25kg rice last month. I was so happy because my house was entirely out of food; this was a saving grace".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" The major challenge I'm facing right now is finance. I am a professional driver but due to sickness, I haven't been able to get a job lately. Because of this, I have gone into farming and this doesn't yield much money to maintain my family. My wife is not doing well as well. We need money to start up something that will provide basic needs for our family".
