Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest impact is that I completed the construction of my two roomed permanent house. I feel much happier because at my advanced age I can not engage in any manual labour. I also bought food stock to sustain me for a much longer period.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My son called the day after and told me that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I was very happy at that moment.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I bought a bicycle worth UGX 230000.I bought 2 bags of millet worth UGX 300000. I bought cement worth UGX 250000 and sand worth UGX 70000. I bought two windows worth UGX 100000 and a door worth UGX 160000. I bought a solar panel and battery worth UGX 150000. I bought iron sheets worth UGX 240000. What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy a piece of land that I can cultivate. I shared the only piece of land that I had among my children and now I don't have where to farm.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the noon time when I have eatten food. I feel satisfied.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to buy land. I shared the piece of land that I had among my children and I remained with nothing to cultivate. Feeding is a charllage to me because I can not farm and get food to eat. At the same time, I am old and sick so life is just hard.
