Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Now that I have completed building my house, I am planning to buy sheep for rearing. Sheep is not that expensive to buy and does not require any intensive work. They are also fast reproducers and this will help me later to buy a dairy cow once I sell them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now able to meet my daily needs with less difficulty. Before I had to really overwork myself in order to meet some of these needs and still, I sometimes couldn't meet them. I am also able to meet my children's school fees and they are no longer sent home as frequently as before.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to buy my own dairy cow for rearing. I am currently keeping my neighbor's cow since I do have any but it is my wish to get one. Having one's cow is one fulfilling thing because there is a pride and fulfillment that comes with it. The cow will help us cut down what we spent on milk and can even sell any extra for an income.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Long before I started receiving the transfers, I was thinking too much of any possible way to make my family comfortable. I was struggling a lot to avail many household requirements thou they were never enough again. Thanks to GiveDirectly for choosing to work with our village. I am now relaxed, all my projects running and the provisions to the family are adequate. My children are feeding well, schooling well and also dressing well; something which is giving me a peace of mind.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
After the completion of the construction of a new house in our household, we felt relieved and with open minds, we started reasoning together as a family. We now have an additional goal to construct another new house for my children who have been sleeping in the neighbor's place. We have joined a Merry-go-round group where we are making a contribution of 1000 KES every month. We have five members in the group and we are sure that our turn will soon come to allow us to start the construction. By picking this project in the next four months, it means my children will soon have ample space to study and even sleep well. We are hoping to make the construction as fast as possible so that we can start other projects before the end of the period which we were promised by GiveDirectly to be receiving the transfers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Initially, I was living in a grass-thatched hut which was too small to accommodate all the members of my household. Not only was it small but also so old that whenever it rained, the leaks which were on the roof would create some splash on the floor. We have always been praying that God may open a way so that we could construct a new house and finally He did. We received the transfers from GiveDirectly and the first idea that we had was to construct a new house. At the moment we are enjoying the comfort of a warm home free from leaks as we used to have before. We have constructed a good house made of timbers and iron sheets on the roofs. This so far is the biggest difference in our daily lives.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My main focus at the moment is to ensure that I bring back my children and ensure that they all sleep at home every night. The problem they have been undergoing as they share beddings with my neighbor's children should end soon now that I hope to complete the construction of a new house before December so that all things can be set right.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago since I am living in a better house. Initially, we were residing in a house with a leaking roof. Besides, I have managed to hire a tractor to plough my land and planted high-quality seeds on time. Consequently, I look forward to a huge harvest. Previously, we used to dig our farm and plant locally available seeds that could attract little harvest.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The new goal for my life for the next four months is to build another new and bigger house. This is because we are still congested in the new house. I save the money that I get from GiveDirectly to finance the project.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, the biggest difference in my daily life is that I have managed to build a better house. Earlier on, we used to live in a grass-thatched house that had a leaking roof. I used the funds that I have been receiving from GiveDirectly on purchasing some pieces of iron-sheet and building a new house. Currently, we have a warmer house. Besides, we can harvest rainwater for use in the household unlike before since we have a good platform (the iron sheet roof).
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect my life to change significantly since I will have purchased a cow. Currently, I do not own any cow or significant asset that could be used as collateral to secure financial support. Thus, owning one will mean a lot to me and my family. We shall be getting milk for consumption and sale. Besides, I will have harvested the maize. Hence, we shall be enjoying adequate food in our family. Finally, I endeavor to start a new grocery business so as to do away with casual work. Overall, I look forward to a totally better life.
