Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
In my own opinion, I am happier and healthier compared to the past when we were malnurished and desperate. We used to have a meal in a day. The cash transfers have transformed my living standards. We also acquired property and household items that we did not have.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The mobile money message was delivered early in the morning. I was very happy at that moment because being a polygamous family has its own challenges.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the cash transfer to buy a bull worth UGX1100000. I paid school fees worth UGX250000. I bought a mattress worth UGX110000 and bed sheets worth UGX30000. The balance was spent on food and clothes.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy oxen that will support in cultivation and increase food productivity in my home.
I will also pay school fees and provide scholastic materials for my children using this same money. This will earn them a better future especially when they have an opportunity to complete and be employed.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my children return from school. They support me by doing some domestic work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to pay school fees for my children. Usually when the term starts, I pay only half of the total amount of money that is required as school fees. The rest remains as a debt which in most cases affect my children's class attendance because school management keeps sending them out of school for failure to meet the requirement.
