I spent the three transfers majorly on food, school fees and construction of my kitchen. For instance, when I received the first transfer of kshs 3,000 , my child who is in form one was away from school due to school fees arrears. So I used kshs 2,000 to pay school fees. There was also no food in my house. Therefore, I bought 5 packets of 2kg maize flour worth kshs 500, 1 packet of 2kg wheat flour at kshs 200 and 3kg of sugar worth kshs 300. The second transfer came in around Christmas period. I had no plans on where to get food for this celebrations! I was so excited. I bought 2litres of cooking oil worth kshs 400 and 4 packets 2kg of wheat flour worth kshs 600. I had always wanted to renovate my kitchen but never had the money. So I spent kshs 1,000 on renovation materials like wood and nails. I then spent the remaining kshs 1,000 to pay for labour. The third transfer was equally useful. I spent kshs 2,500 on my child's school fees. I also bought washing bar soap at kshs 200, 2kg of sugar at kshs 280 and used the remaining balance on water because we are in a dry season. I'm so grateful because these transfers have been so helpful to me.

I am very much grateful to this program because through it my child could go back and attend to her education which was such a huge relief since since her home was weighing on me. I also manage to have enough to provide a decent meal for the family during the holiday which genuinely made everyone happy especially my husband and I because were it not for the funds Christmas would have gone by just like any other day.

After I received the money my initial priority was to cater for tuition fee for my child since she had been sent home and been there for two days because I had no money to send her back to school. Therefore after the money arrived I paid KES 2,000 for the school fees which did nit entirely clear the debt but it at least managed to let my daughter go back to school. As for what I was remaining with I decided to cater for nourishment of my family and I especially since it was the holidays and therefore I decided to buy two kilograms of sugar, two packets of maize flour, one and a half kilogram of wheat flour and two kilograms of rice which totally cost me KES 1,000.

I saw the text message that I had received the transfer at around 5 pm. My phone had been charging all day. When my husband was back from work, checked my phone and found out that I had received the transfer. He told me the good news and I was very happy with the news. We sat down after supper and we planned on how we were going to use the funds.

The money has brought a big difference in my life. My child is back in school and continuing with his education. I bought food using the cash and I am very happy that the food I have now will take us for the next few weeks ahead.

Without any job my husband, I have been struggling a lot to make ends meet and with the increasing drought, it has been even harder to meet basic needs especially water and food. I walk for long distances to get just one jerrican of water for my use at home. With all these struggles, I spent KSH 1000 buying food for my family. I also bought water for my consumption since it is becoming very hard to find water. With the remaining amount, I paid school fees for my child who is currently in school.
