How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers relieved me of the school fees burden that I had. I spent all the cash transfers to pay for school fees and tuition for one child. I was able to clear all their boarding school fees. This has been my greatest joy. In the past, it was very difficult for me to pay all their school fees at once. This was because I majorly depended on the sale of surplus food crops which were not profitable. I am delighted that the cash transfers offloaded that burden. I am now relaxed and at peace.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did so well to send us cash cash transfers as opposed to other organizations that promise services which they never deliver. I like the eligibility protocol GiveDirectly uses while enrolling communities in the village. In addition to this, GiveDirectly has improved our means of communication through giving us phones. We nolonger have to walk long distances so as to convey information. However, I call upon GiveDirectly staff to continue visiting our households so that we can express our gratitude.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent all my second cash transfer to pay school fees for three children who are all studying in boarding schools.
