How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different in that I am happy to have paid off a long standing debt, and build an iron sheet roofed house. Before, this would stress my mind, the grass thatched house would leak during a rainy season forcing you to replaced the roof every year.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well giving money that has enabled me to pay off a long standing debt and to construct a house. In addition, it has brought harmony among most household in the village unlike before where there were many conflicts in homes. I don't see anything it hasn't done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
That second transfer was spent to pay a debt, and the remainder, I bought a cow.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I have been in position to construct an iron roofed house which is at the beam level now. Once the house is completed with my second transfer, I will be relieved from the burden of looking for grass that I use to renovate my hut. Before receiving this transfer, I didn't have enough money to buy the needed building materials.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Upon learning that I had received my money, I became very happy because I had got money that would able me build an iron roofed house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase building materials (5 trips of bricks, 7 bags of cement, iron bars, a trip of sand and aggregate), paid construction workers and bought food..

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Iam going to build iron- roofed house with this money. My family has suffered for every long period of time renovating grass-thatched. This has made me fail to save some money for providing other basic needs like food, clothing and education.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest moments is in the afternoon. The whole day Iam busy working looking for what my children will eat. Iam engaged in to garden and domestic work. The only time I relax and share with my spouse, family plans is afternoon.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. I mainly depending on cultivation as a source earning, yet I have a big numbers children to take care off. Iam therefore un able to satisfy my family needs like educating my children and they have ended up being school drop outs. Also Some have resorted to earlier marriges.
