How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I am happy because I sleep in a better permanent house. Before, I used to sleep in a leaky grass thatched house which was not conducive.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well through giving cash transfer directly without strings attached. I do not see what GivDirectly had not done so well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 600000 for buying a heifer as a saving, two doors and Windows costed UGX 440000. I bought a wheel barrow worth UGX 100000. Transport costed me 8000, labour for fitting doors costed me UGX 15000, Clothes costed UGX 30000, a bed costed UGX 110000, School fees costed 240000 and the balance of UGX 89000 was spent on feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has changed in a way that my grandchildren fectch for me water using a bicycle I bought. I used to face a challenge of water at home which is not an issue now. I'm so happy that very soon I will be sleeping in my newly constructed house and I will say bye bye to grass thatched house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became very happy and thanked God for blessing me because there was no way I could build a house, buy a mattress and some other things. In fact Give Directly has done wonders in my life, Imagine an old woman like me to have a permanent house it's so unbelievable but all Glory to God and Give Directly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent ugx 266000 to purchase household items like mattress, a bed, Table and utensils which were worn out. I also bought a wheelbarrow at ugx 18000 which it was used for the construction of my house and I will also use it for fetching water from the borehole. I Constructed my pernent house at ugx 1222000. I bought a bicycle @ ugx 200000 which is being used at home.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house, buy oxen for ploughing.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my grand children are healthy and playing happily.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of a good sleeping house and oxen for ploughing.
