What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my most recent transfer on improving my talent as a musician in the entertainment industry which has been my passion for long. I do produce my own songs and the transfer has enabled me to cover for the expenses of making the song and also shooting some videos. This has changed my music and at least now I have the opportunity to attend shows and concerts whenever I have the chance to. I also spent a portion of the money to pay for my brother's school fees so that he could be allowed back to school. I saved the remaining amount for future financial needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I had no goals and my music was not well known at the beginning, but after receiving this money, I saved enough and invested in nurturing my music talent. I now get opportunities for performance in concerts and shows, and my music has taken a new turn. My goal now is to develop fully and grow in the entertainment industry. This will bring a positive change in my life since I will have more income for the family and consequently enjoy better living standards.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My hustle as a musician was not doing well because I lacked the necessary capital to develop and improve my talent. My life is now different because after receiving the transfer I was able to save enough capital and opened my own studio in partnership with my fellow group members. The money has helped me in producing music, and unlike before, I now have the opportunity to attend many concerts and shows because the financial support has opened many opportunities for me. Also, I have been able to open a small business of selling clothes from which I also get an extra income

What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my most recent transfer to pay school fees for my brother since I did not want him to be left behind the syllabus as a result of being sent back home due to lack of school fees. It has always been a norm of him being sent back home which brought a lot of shame to our family. It also affected my brothers self esteem. It has always been my dream own a passport, I therefore spared some amount to make one. To add on that , since I am an upcoming artist I decided to record my second track using part of my money and released my second track courtesy of Give Directly. Apart from that since the transfers came at a time I had not paid my house rent, it came in handy and saved me from the shame of my house being locked by the landlord. To top it all I did some repair of our group office. I saved the rest of the amount so that I can use in case an emergency arises.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
At the moment, I do not have any additional goals in my life. I am currently focused to ensure that my brother finishes school without being sent home for school fees. I will also continue recording my songs. I know with time I will start selling my albums and earn money from them. I will soon be an established musician, for now I am still learning the ropes of how the industry works. Thanks to Give Directly for helping me accomplish these goals.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from how it would have been had I never received the transfer. Currently, I have been able to record two songs with the help I got from Give Directly. I was recently called for an interview at a TV station to talk more about my songs. With this, I am assured that my career will shine and I will be famous soon. This will guarantee me a good future since my income will also increase. I thank God for this because I know that all this would not have been possible had it not been for the help I received from GiveDirectly.

Describe the moment when you started receiving transfers. How did you feel?
I was filled with so much happiness the moment I saw the message indicating that I had received some money from GiveDirectly. I really thanked God for I knew that He was manifesting His blessings to me through GiveDirectly. This money gave me the hope of recording my new songs.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Music is what my heart cherishes most and I always dedicate my time on it. When I received my recent transfer, I used some amount to record two of my songs which I had not recorded due to lack of money. I also spent some money to buy a blue tooth speaker so that I will be using it to listen to beats when I am writing my songs. In addition, I spent part of my transfers to pay school fees for my brother who is in high school as I have always been helping my mother to pay them. Due to the nature of my work, getting money sometimes becomes very hard. For this reason, I paid one-month house rent in advance. I used the remaining amount to buy some food to last me for two weeks since I sometimes take only one meal a day due to lack of money to use.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before GiveDirectly came to Mathare, It had been long since I recorded some of my songs due to lack of money. I am now glad since I have been able to record two of them. I believe that with this, some people will start buying some of my discs containing my songs and I will start earning some income.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
At the moment, I am planning to start a branding merchandise business in a collaboration with my friends. With this kind of business, I will be able to market my songs. This business is also promising especially here in ghetto hence we will have a wide range of customers. I am also planning to produce an album with six songs which I have already recorded after video shooting them

Describe your usual day. How do you spend your time?
On my usual day, I wake up in the morning and have breakfast in a nearby kiosk. I return back in the house, write lyrics, watch movies, listening to music or visit friends to brainstorm ideas for writing scripts. On special days I shoot movies, hired as master of ceremony or even performing my music.
What are your greatest ambitions?
I would want to be a great musician. I would be able to provide for my family, nurturing talents for young people and help them grow. I would want to write several books about my life and fictional stories.
Describe your biggest worry.
My top concern is health of my younger brother because I don't know whether he will grow normal. He had a heart problem but was done corrective surgery. This drained our family financially and I struggle much providing for basic needs.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I would invest in music and record songs. I have been in entertainment industry and I know how it goes. If done right is rewarding and pays a lot. I would start selling branded merchandise for our group and help it grow. There is a ready market and will target mostly youths because they keep up with fashion. Lastly, I will support my parents to pay school fees for my brother.
