Givedirectly is good at talking to people very well and discovering the problem people are face with as it relates to poverty. They have done well in helping us receive cash to solve our problem. Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was cooking and heard the noise in the community that someone transfer has come to their phone. I hurriedly went to network area and instantly my phone rang and if was my transfer alert. I was shocked at first so I sat down and regained my breath before coming back to my house with singing. My children joined me in the celebration and it was so beautiful.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive the cash transfer, I will complete my house project. Most parts of the house is not plastered. So I will buy cement and and complete the plastering. I will also use some to pay my children school fees. Like I told you earlier, I got 7 children but only 4 are with us here. And the 3 that are out, two are in college while the other one is in 12th Grade. And to pay their fees including the four here is not easy. Although we are engaged into farming wherein I make cassava farm , harvest and make gari out of the cassava and sell to be able to pay the fees, but the cash realised from the sale can not be enough to pay the fees and also provide food for the home. So if I am successful to receive the cash transfer, that will be a huge financial relief for me and my spouse.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Yes, last July 15, 2021 I am my family were really happy. On that we, for the first time this farming season harvest our first rice from the farm and ate some. That really makes me happy because before that day, we have gone through the hunger season with out food for over 5 months before that day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge for me here is how to raise money to be able to due with the financial challenges I got on hand. Like I mentioned to you, to raise money here is difficult. We don't really have much activities in this region to earn money from. The few we have to raise money from don't really give us the kind of money I need to handle all of my financial burden.
