How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different in the last four months in that I have a new and permanent toilet. I used to have a mud-walled toilet which was in bad condition. Our area chief had given us a warning to build a new one. I was getting worried because I did not have the resources to build a new toilet. When I received the second transfer, I used it to buy materials such as iron sheets and poles for building a new one. I am happy because I am no longer bothered by my chief to build a new toilet.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I wish to buy a second-hand motorcycle to help me boost my income by employing someone to use it for taxi business. The little I would get from the taxi business will help me improve my financial status and help meet my family needs in time.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life since I received this transfer is that my house is in good condition which really makes me very happy. The roof was rusty and the walls were in bad shape because the paint on the walls was fading out due to the rains. I was not pleased because it looked old yet it was not old. I used the transfer to buy paint which I used to paint the walls and the roof. Right now, the house looked presentable and I feel at peace even to invite my friends and visitors at home.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I want to start a cereal business. I know through this, I will have a stable source of income to help me raise money to meet my needs. I would not want to struggle to get the money as before. I would want to see a change in my financial life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The hardship I am facing is feeding my family and paying school fees to my children. Last season our farms were affected by prolonged drought and business too was affected by continuous politics in the country making life really expensive and difficult.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is usually in the morning when i wake up to a happy and healthy family that can go out to work in our farms and attend to our small business. This inspires us to work harder to improve our lives.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to use the cash transfer from givedirectly to pay my son's school fees who is currently a form two in Usenge High School. Because of poor harvest and bad politics over a period last year, I am currently struggling to raise his fees.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement was being able to entrol my last born son in form one at Usenge Boys High School using the monies I saved from my little business using our local table banking group.
