How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now in that, My standards of living have improved in so many ways for example, we feed well on a balanced diet, I bought Household items like mattresses, bed sheets, clothes and utensils. I did not have gardens to farm on but through GD I was able to have some. I never owned a bicycle my entire life but GD transfers blessed me with a bike. My home is now bright because I was able to buy a solar system that makes my home look like I use electricity. Prior to getting this money, Life was so difficult because I did not have where to farm on. My house was in bad shape and leaking but I was able to buy some grass and I thatched it. Finally transportation was so difficult because I did not have a bicycle which could have eased my movement.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly did so well in various ways, Everything that I own now its because of GD. Without GD I would not have managed to achieve all the things I now have like, Solar, Ox, household items, Seeds, Bicycle among others. I love the way GD does its work like looking for us from our homes. After briefing us from baraza meetings, They informed us to sit at our home and wait for them to visit us at our homes. According to me, GD did everything well because we were able to benefit from GD without any complains.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I sued my transfer on buying groundnut seeds which never had for this coming season. I also bought a bicycle because I did not own any and transportation was difficult and very expensive. I as well bought a solar system because I was so tired of buying small torches to use in the night as a source of energy. I decided to buy household items like utensils, clothes and a pot for drinking water. In addition to that I bought an ox that I will use for plowing when the season begins. I decided to save some money that I will use during the farming period.
