How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I can save more from my casual work as we have extra income from the transfers. My child gets to stay in school and concentrate on the studies as he is hardly sent away from school to clear the school fee arrears. My family eats three meals a day unlike when we could afford a meal a day. I am stress-free as I can bank on the transfers so much to improve the lifestyle of my family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new goal now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I can easily buy food on a daily basis for my family. Our health has really improved and we can say we are gaining some weight as a household because the transfers have enabled us to eat at least three meals a day something we used just dream about. I can dedicate my income on other important projects rather than just buy food for consumption.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to save and start up a poultry project. By buying poultry for rearing my family can get income for the day to day upkeep and we can also consume some for nourishment. This will be the main source of income for my family and a remembrance of how GiveDirectly has changed muy life.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I had a poultry project which I ventured into sometime last year, but it was not what I had wanted it to be because I did not have the money to improve it due to low income. With the help of GD transfers, I have managed to expand the project over the last four months and I am happy to report that the profits I have had from it in the last few months is tremendous. My life has definitely changed because I can now provide for my family without so much of a struggle like I did before.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I recently improved my poultry project which I plan to expand over the next few months in preparation for the high demand that is expected over the December holidays. I want to expand the chicken pen then bring in more quality breeds of chicken for improved products.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The money has reduced my burden as the primary earner of my family over the last four months because my wife also receives the transfers. Being that she does not have any source of income, these transfers have enabled her to assist in the purchasing of the household requirements which gives me the opportunity to focus other important issues such as fee payments.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My plan is to expand the chicken project I am currently running by bringing in quality breeds of chicken for better products which will result in more income. I expect that in six months from now, I will have saved enough money to allow me to venture into rabbit keeping which is something I have always wanted to do so that I can quit relying on casual unreliable jobs and be self-employed.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
GD transfers have been of much help to me especially on handling family financial needs. The biggest area where I feel so much relieved is in school fees for my children. This has been my biggest burden and worry. In most cases, my children have always been sent home for the same regularly. Because I have always had very little income from casual work, I have never managed to clear the balances in time. Anytime they had been given a warning, I would have sleepless nights because I knew they would be sent home. Ever since I started receiving these transfers, I have been able to pay the major part of their fees and they have never been sent home for school fees since thrid term of 2018. This is a big imrpvement in my life beccause of GD.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to buy a water tank. In my area, there has been water scarcity, especially during the dry seasons. We have always had to go miles to fetch water which is a necessity for life. In most cases, I have spent a lot of money to hire someone to fetch water. This is the reason why I would like to save part of my transfers to buy a tank to be used in saving water during the rainy seasons. This will help save water to sustain my family in the dry seasons as we still hope the Governement will come up with a lasting solution for the same in my village.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving this transfer is that I find it easy to handle small bills. I have been struggling to keep up with the demands of the family since I only depend on casual work. The income has not been much hence I have always had to borrow to ensure I meet some family needs. Ever since I started receiving these transfers, life has been made easy financially. In as much as I cannot be able to handle everything with the transfers, I have been solving most of my family needs in time which was not the case before the transfers. I feel some of the burdens have taken off me even though I still handle them.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would want to start a business. This is because GD has brought positive changes to my life and the only way to sustain and improve on the same, is to start a business. Soon the transfers will stop and I would not want to go back to where I was. This is the reason why I have decided to start a business to help me provide for my family well. The profits from the business will be my income and support me in ensuring my family needs are well catered for.
