How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in two dimensions. Firstly, My marriage is solid now, this money has strengthen the relation of me and my husband. Secondly, As a household now we can afford many things like Food, shelter and we have no worries. This was never the case before GD and we are very thankful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What Give Directly is doing well is pulling people out of poverty and empowering household to be independent. Most household can now afford basic things on their own which a beautiful thing.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have spent the second transfer on iron sheet, six bags of cement, nails and wires to finalize the house which I am building.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money means an improved standard of living for me and my family. We always struggle to afford three meals per day and our house too is not a good one by the standards we want in a good house. Hence, this money shall go towards building good house and other items for the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy anytime of the day when I know am going to eat for that day. This is so as it sets the mood for the day for me not to worry and concentrate on other activities.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We always struggle to have enough food for the whole year. Only in harvesting periods we eat three meals but several months after it's all hunger until we harvest again.
