How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The truth is that I have witnessed a very positive change in my life from the time that I received the cash transfers. I am now healthy and decent because I can afford to wear new clothes. I am very happy because very soon I will shift to a nice comfortable iron roofed house with nice bedding. My family eats a well balanced diet and with the three plots of land that I hired, I intend to increase my food crop production. Formerly, my life was very miserable, I could not even afford smearing oil, we could not afford a good meal meal. At times we could sleep on an empty stomach.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well to send people cash transfers to the people directly without segregation just as they had promised us. The cash transfers have transformed my life. GiveDirectly has only done great things for us.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent all my second cash transfer to complete the construction of my four roomed iron roofed house. I also bought some house hold items like basins, jerrycans, porcelain plates and clothes. I also hired a piece of land for crop production.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I'm able to buy food for my household since there wasn't enough food. I have been able to take back my children to school on time. I bought household items like beddings and utensils and therefore my standards of living have improved. I have also been able to complete my house that defeated me a long time ago.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became so happy to the extent that I came outside the house and started dancing, ululating and celebrating with other community members. I did no feel like going back to bed and when I did i never slept back until morning. I was so happy because these transfer will help me solve financial crisis in my household.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used my transfer to complete my house and as we speak now I'm still using these money for constructing the house. Since I didn't have where to cultivate, I decided to hire some plots of land to farm on. I also used the money to buy my children scholastic materials like uniforms, books and pay development fees to the school. I used these same transfers to purchase food for the household and household items.
