Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next month, I would break for long holiday. The next transfer which I will be receiving to the end of this programme, I will save and put together with the savings which I currently have and spent in to buy a motorcycle. I would like to add one more motorcycle to one which I currently have so that I would double my income. The projected monthly earnings fro motorcycle business is approximately KES 2600 a month. This amount would enable me to pay my school fees, pay my rent and buy myself some food. The extra I would spend on paying part of my sibling's school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, I have been spending part of my transfer to pay for my rent for the house which I live while in school. This has really help me to pay my rent on time and have a good relationship with my landlord.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would have bought a new motorcycle and will be two motorcycles. This two assets would help me generate more income and would enable me to pay my school fees, pay my rent and buy myself some food.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that I now have more income of my own and self reliant than I was four months a go. I can proudly say I am working towards leading an independent life free from over reliance on my parents and other well wishers. I am now proud that I have been able to assist my parents in gathering for my own personal needs and given them enough time to look for school fees and gather for the other household member needs. They have also been able to facilitate their own income generating activities. I have also been able to clear a loan that I had borrowed to buy a motorcycle and I can now start saving more money from the proceeds of my motorcycle business. I already have plans of buying a second motorcycle and even make more income for myself and raise the living standards of myself and my family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am part of a merry go round group that was started within our village once we started receiving these transfers. This merry go round group has really assisted us in making various investments. I will be getting the contributions from this merry go round over the next four months. Once I get the money, I will deposit the amount in a local bank to be able to get a bigger loan from the savings. The loan shall be used to buy another motorcycle which I shall use to generate income and pay back the loan. I am optimistic that I will be able to pay the loan in time because I shall use the profits from both the first and the new motorcycle to pay back the loan. I shall be required to pay back a total of KES 6000 which to me is achievable and realistic. Once I am done with the payment then I can think of other meaningful investments that will change my living standards positively in the long run. This is an additional goal that I have and looking forward to accomplishing it over the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I am a college student in a town that is far away from home. Being a student in this town requires that I gather for my own household needs and pay rent to be able to pursue my studies. GiveDirectly transfers have always helped me meet most of these personal needs and sometimes pay rent with it. This has reduced the burden on my parents who would have had to struggle to pay school fees and at the same time find money to gather for my own personal needs and rent. I highly doubt if they would have managed to meet all these needs. Receiving this money has enabled me to be in school all year round and given my parents an opportunity to look for school fees and through this I am going to clear my studies and find a job in the near future. This has been the biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I shall have bought my second motorcycle and I will be proud owner of two motorcycles and definitely have more income for myself and make more investments in future. I have the confidence of being able to pay back the loan that will be used to purchase the motorcycle since I will use income from the two motorcycles.
