Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that I feel much lively and safe in that I have access to money to execute my plans. I also acquired a motorcycle that will earn the family daily income. This will sustain my family as I look forward to constructing a permanent house. Previously, I had no income generating activity and life was unpredictable. The cash transfers have empowered me to think outside farming as the only source of income and think of income generating activities to support the family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at home that day when I received the cash transfer message. I became very happy because GiveDirectly had honored their promise of sending us the cash transfers.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of the first cash transfer to bake bricks worth UGX 300000 and UGX 1300000. The balance will be spent on buying clothes and food for the family.
