How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have been able to pay casual workers to work on my farm. This will help boost the number of proceeds I will garner at the end f the season. More produce means more income hence improvement in our living standards. I can always sell the surplus to generate income and also consume some to the end of the season. I am also able to get better food on the table on a daily basis and this has helped me sail through my old age with a lot of ease. Actually, this is the only moment in my life I can say I was able to earn income without necessarily having to work extra hard to earn it.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a new goal of saving and paying casual labourers to work on my farm as I would love to expand on my farming this season to help in increasing my proceeds.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am more independent financially. I have been unable to take more debts from friends and relatives to buy even simple meals. I can afford to eat well and even dress well something which was always a struggle as I did not have any form of income generation. I am really grateful to GD for bringing this chang ein my life as I believe I would have died of hunger. This is because all my children who helped me financially also have many responsibilities and most of the time helping me weighed on them.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
By the end of the six months, I shall have saved and bought livestock for rearing as the financial security of the family. I have always wanted to venture into farming to help in securing our finances as a family but I could not be able to as I did not have funds to fulfil the dream. I am glad that I got the chance to even think about it.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I am enjoying every bit of my life. I have never slept on an empty stomach ever since GD started sending me transfers. I always have all the three meals like most of the guys in my community. This was not the case before I started receiving the transfers. I used to go without food and on given days slept on an empty stomach.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I currently do not have any new goals apart from ensuring that food never lacks in the household.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to provide food for my household. This was a major challenge given that I do not have a source of employment and with my age engaging in casual labor is next to impossible.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I do not expect much of a change but I am Certain that food will not be amongst the problems that I will face during this period.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different in that I have been able to buy farm inputs and using these products I am certain of enough yields at the end of the harvest. I will be able to get enough to feed on meaning my family's nutritional status will be improved.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have a new gaol but rather to focus on preparing my farm since I do rely on the yields that I get from the farm to feed on since at my old age I am not able to work.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to buy farm inputs and using these products I am certain of enough yields at the end of the harvest. I will be able to get enough to feed on meaning my family's nutritional status will be improved. Before I could not get enough yield due to the fact that I did not have money to purchase the inputs. My family could lack food during those time because of meagre harvest every season. My family members could engage in labour work which was so tiresome and the payment was little. We are so happy for the support from the Givedirectly it has really changed our standard of living.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect in the next six months to shall have gotten enough harvest hence I will be able to get food with ease and also sell the surplus to make an income that will cater for my household expenditure with ease.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is having to deal with my last born son who takes alcohol and bang.He assaults and abuses me when he is drunk, which really stresses me up.Because of this,I have recently been diagnosed with ulcers.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when the day is over and I can finally go to bed and rest.Because of my sickness, I can't walk, this makes my day very boring because I am always indoors.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on food items. I am old and therefore can no longer farm,so I will use my transfer on buying cereals instead of spending it on farming.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement was adopting a friend's son who was orphaned at the age of 8 years.I managed to educate him up to the University where he majored in education. I feel so proud to see him now as a young independent man who is able to take care of his siblings and start his own family.
