Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life is better now because I ride my own motorcycle which I bought with the transfer. It has eased transportation for both my family members and merchandise to the market on market days. I have also plastered my house and I am using solar light. My home is beautiful and it looks like a town. Before I received the transfer, transportation was not easy. I could hire a motorcycle for me to go any where and also transport the merchandise to the market which was expensive.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I first doubted the message because I thought it was from fraudsters. I checked my account balance and confirmed it was real. I was then filled with happiness and the whole village ululated, praising GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying household items (a mattress, curtains, bed sheets, kitchen utensils and clothes). I purchased a solar panel, 4 bags of cement and 2 trips of sand that I used for plastering my house. I also bought a second hand bajaj motorcycle to ease transportation.
