How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
It has always been my intention to build a decent house of my own and live in it, and Give Directly has come to make that dream become a reality, that which I'm grateful for. Additionally, looking at the business I'm doing (fishing) I thought it wise to add my goods up (canoe) because that is my source of income. In so doing, my second transfer was divided into two and a portion was spent on purchasing a new canoe to add to the previous one I had.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly is a God sent organization, they have come to lift the poor from their poverty, without demanding anything in return. They are indeed a people of high esteem and integrity, and I'm grateful to God for them.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My recent transfer was spent on additional goods for my business. I intended empowering myself through my business because what Give Directly is doing for us is for a season, and if they leave I will definitely have something to hold on to in other to sustain my family and I. Notwithstanding, I used half of my transfer to purchase a canoe, the remaining portion of my transfer was directed to my house project. I purchased additional zinc, nail, and gas to saw my planks.

Since my house broke down, I have been staying in a relative house with my family. For the passed months I started struggling very hard to built a house using thacthes to cover the roof. But completing the project had not been easy due to lack of sufficient cash. Excitingly, GiveDirectly came with this great financial favour and since the day I received my transfer, I have been one of the happiest person in my village.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly, my only source of income had been from the sale of fire woods. Sadly my house broke down few months back due to it deployable condition. And my family and I had to moved in a relative's house. Since then I have been struggling very hard to raise money from the sale of fire woods to built a new house. However, I started the building project to the stage that it had been roof with thatches. Notwithstanding, I have decided to change the roof to a zinc roof. Therefore, I am planning on using a good portion of the money to buy three bundles of zinc and three packs of zinc nail. With the new development taking place in my life I feel very delighted for this life changing opportunity.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When my house broke down, I had the dream of building a new and decent house for my family and I. I started the struggle of selling fire woods in order to raise money for the project. But not much was earned. For this reason I decided to use thatches instead of zinc, because I couldn't afford to buy zinc. However, with my transfer, I am planning to use a good portion of the money to buy three bundles of zinc. Additionally, I will use a portion to buy three packs of zinc nail.
