My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I have always had food for my family. Before the transfers, I did not have any source of income and this is why we would miss so many meals. We would depend on well-wishers for survival. Since GD came to my life, I have always bought food in bulk once a month which has been very helpful.

In the next four months, I have a new goal of starting a shoe business. This will help me meet my family needs in time and not struggle as I have always struggled because I do not have any income.

I have always desired to build a new house since I am currently staying in a grass thatched house. The house is small and cannot accommodate us well and the roof is also leaking. I am almost done with buying the iron sheets so that I can now build the house I have always desired.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have new household items which I do not have currently. After building the house, I would want to have new items such as seats, utensils and bedding.

In the next four months, I wish to start a shoe business to help improve my income. With the business up and smoothly running, I will be able to comfortably meet my family's needs. Currently, the family relies on one source of income from my spouse which honestly has never been enough.

The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have acquired new utensils for my household. The few that I could afford when I first got married had since then worn out which called for some replacements. I have always felt so ashamed whenever needed to present them for usage by my visitors. I feel very proud I don't go begging anymore.

In the next six months, I plan to build a new house. What this means now is that I will be saving part of my monthly transfers to buy building materials. How long the project will take is not a worry, all that I focus on is having a decent modern house for my humble family and with the assurance of monthly transfers from GiveDirectly, I am rest assured that my dream will come true.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly is that I take control of my money , I can buy whatever I want unlike before where I could be limited due to lack of money.
