How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I was able to do a lot of development that I didn't know how and when I would have accomplished. I am skilled in dressmaking but I lacked the capital to purchase a sewing machine. After receiving my transfer, I bought one with my first transfer. Also, I partnered with my mother-in-law by contributing $250 each for the purchase of a second-hand motorbike. We are using it for taxi and is assisting us in fetching water since we are experiencing drought in our area.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,I thank GiveDirectly for sending us aid that facilitated the construct a decent shelter for my family. In addition, I enhanced my livestock rearing by adding 5 more goats with the aid. I don't see anything wrong that GiveDirectly is doing.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent $150 of my transfer to complete the construction of house which I had started with my first transfer. Also, I bought 5 more goats at $30 each to boost my livestock rearing activity. The remaining amount assisted me in purchasing enough food for my family since we are experiencing drought and hunger in our village.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
To achieve food security has been my dire need for a very long time. Our area being short of reliable rainfall requires speed during farming season for one to harvest enough. This is only achievable to someone who owns better farming equipment since it is even expensive to hire. Receiving this money therefore means, I will purchase oxen to scale up farming.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am chatting with my neighbours. I always enjoy their company because of their humorous nature. Being around them relieves me of stress.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is lack of a stable source of income. Being a housewife, I depend entirely on my husband who is a casual labourer. Since these jobs are hard to come by, the much he sends us is 300 shillings a week. This amount is so little that it cannot fully sustain us, forcing me to take loans from my neighbours.
