What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on investing in sugarcane planting. I come from an area with a sugar company, but has never gotten an opportunity to supply it with raw materials as other members of the society. It has been a wish in me to have a sugarcane plantation, but resources to finance it has always been an obstacle. I am glad with GiveDirectly for enabling me fulfill my wish.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly improved with the transfers from GiveDirectly. Today I am fully involved in a business that generates me much income at the end of the day. My spouse too has managed to acquire tools and machines required in his fishing work.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I have seen more good things done by the organisation as compared to the bad ones. The organisation through the help of its financiers has changed the lives of many poor Kenyans.
