How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I'm able to plant my food crops in time without having hardship of hiring the oxen as before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD has helped us by reducing burdens we had before.GD has not done anything bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying two oxen that are going to help me plough my farm land.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used my first cash transfer for purchasing a cow in order to produce milk that would ve consumed at home and when it multiplies, it will be used as an income generating activity for the household. The balance of 1,200,000ugx, I want to use for purchasing timber, iron sheets and timber for construction of an iron roofed house in order to improve on my living conditions.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy because I had never received this amount of money in my life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, we have peace now in the family. Before, we could quarrel any time as a result of failure to meet household needs.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i am faced with is, poor harvests caused by too much rains. This results into food shortage and famine in my family and community.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Morning time is my happiest part of the day.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means building an iron roofed house. This house will provide a comfortable shelter for my household and a store for our agricultural products.
