How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Having a decent and reputable house to live in and to have my children in school has always been my goal. My house has been in a deplorable state for many years now. Despite it being in that state I have not been able to properly renovate it due to the lack of finance. Furthermore, my children have not been able to go back to school for the same financial reason. After I received the money from GiveDirectly, I use portion of it to renovate our house and portion was used to sent my children back to School. I am so happy that what I had desired long time ago to have a zinc house has come true by the help of GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I think GiveDirectly does well by coming to make sure that the cash transferred has reached the rightful person. Moreover, the organization left me with the decision how to spend the money given me. In this way I did prioritize what was important to my family. Absolutely nothing wrong I have seen on the part of the organization.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through this last transfer, I was able to buy, nails, cement, and planks to renovate my house. For many years now I have been living in this deplorable house with my family. Some times when the rain is falling we are forced to change the position of our things most especially the important ones to avoid them being damage by the rain waters. I so greatful to GiveDirectly for this opportunity. As of now, my children are happily in school because I have paid their balance school fees.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
After initiating my house project with my previous transfer, I needed money to complete my new house. In doing so, I purchased additional two bundles of zinc to roof my house. Similarly, I also bought 8 bags of cement to plaster the interior and exterior parts of my house. Some of the cement I purchased was used to put floor in the house. Finally, with GD transfer, I was able to purchase a very big mattress for my family. I feel so relieved at the moment and I will forever be grateful to GD for for this unique project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I, along with most of my neighbours, have been going through tough times until GD intervene with their direct method of giving huge amount to poor people like us. They also give us the opportunity to decide how to spend our transfers to better our lives. From my own point of view, everything that GiveDirectly has done thus far has been straightforward, unique and applaudable. At this point, I see nothing that GD isn't doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I wanted to complete my house by putting a guaranteed roof that would last for many years. I also wanted to plaster the entire house and put a concrete floor.
