How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I don't have a new goal since my first goal has not been achieved. I am still building my new house. Once my first goal is archived, I can set a new goal.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have no new goals for now, I purposely planed to build a house is what am contuing to finish.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has been so good to us, especially my life has not been easy for me. My husband was the only source of income for the family, he will take daily hires from our neighbours just to put food on the table for the family. But since givedirectly came to our community and given this help, life has improved for me and I have started building a house and paid my children's school fees. For me givedirectly has not done any bad in our community, they are indeed a messiah who God has sent to be a blessing to poor people like me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought three bundles of zinc, planks paid three children's school fees and bought some foodstuff for the house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes I set a additional new goal, which is farming (cocoa and cassava). I add farming as my new goal because I already have a existing cocoa farm so I want to increase its size. As cocoa farming is sustainable and substantive.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has proven beyond transparency and accountability, from the initial stage of the project to present nothing bad GD has done I stand to be corrected.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought planks and local building materials, contractors are now clearing my cocoa farm extension.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting in my house cooking and meditating on how to put roof over my head when I heard my phone buzz. I thought it was just an ordinary message as usual, as an under privileged and illiterate person, I speedily ran to reach out to my brother that usually read my messages. He told me GD had fulfilled their promise. Upon hearing the good news, I jumped with joy! My children joined me and we danced till we forgot to visit the farm. We all ate and slept joyfully.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before Givedirectly's program, I only got little from the harvest of my farm for maintenance. We barely feed on the little we got. We were like a parasite, but now I can proudly say I don't have to worry about food, shelter and most importantly my kids are in school. This is my biggest happiness from Givedirectly cash transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After contemplating, my husband and I decided to buy two bundles of zinc, 20 planks for a new house construction. Some of the money was used on agricultural products like cocoa, peppers and cassava to plant on farmland. I used the rest of the money to pay my kids fees and buy food supplies.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My husband and I have been into rice farming as a means of survival and we are not getting much from the farming work. I am also finding it very difficult to keep my children in school due to financial constraints. If my household qualifies for GiveDirectly program, my first priority is to pay my children school fees and buy them some essential school materials that they will need daily. In addition to that, we intend to modernize our house by roofing it with zinc and to also put cement floor in the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Selling farina and fufu from the cassava planted to enable me to save money to send my children to school is very difficult for my husband and I. After laboring for more than a year and been able to save small money to register all my children in school at the beginning of the year and buying them some essential school materials brings me some level of joy and happiness. I feel so happy seeing my children going to school in order to obtain quality education.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Making rice farm and cassava farm just to keep eating and keep sponsoring my children in school is very challenging. I plant cassava and harvest it and processed it into farina and fufu and take it to the market for sale. The money I generate from the sales of the farina and fufu goes towards my children school fees. Raising money to keep my children in school by regularly paying their school fees and also establishing another source of income is the biggest challenge I am facing right now.
