Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life is different because I can now afford to have a meal 2 times a day compared to when I hardly had a meal in a day. I depended on casual labour to get money to buy food. In addition, I also sleep well on a mattress. Before this transfer I slept on hard mat.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer, I felt very happy because I got transfer for paying labour since I do not have enough energy to use on local tool and food.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Bought household goods ( mattress and 2 pairs of bed sheets) worth 162,000, bought food worth UGX 100,000, treatment worth UGX130,000 and solar energy worth UGX 140,000. The recipient spent transfer on labour for harvesting her g-nuts, alcohal, radio and save some money for building but could not estimate all the transfer saved and spent.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means to build iron-roof house for comfortable accomadation. Iam of advanced age with no energy to look for thatching grass. Also people have kept on cheating me all time I require assistance, taking the advantage of my age and ignorance. I sleep in a leaking house with all the property hence Givedirectly money will able me build a better house to accommodate the property and my self. I will have no more physcological torture as before thus my stay on earth is going to be longer .
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of the days is evening hours. This is a time Iam able to put some in our stomachs after agood Samaritan brings. I chat with my spouse while praising God for that day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. My advanced age coupled with no child has made me lead a mesirable life. I can not afford to carry out crop farming for survival hence my family is experiencing higher levels of famine. Iam living mostly on assistance from neighbours which is not reliable thus some days I sleep without food.
