Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received this money. I felt like I was in heaven on the day I received my message. For over so many years, I had not received such a huge amount of money. I came to this town for treatment since 2017 when I was involved into a terrible accident and one of my legs got broken in the process. I have been struggling to survive but things have not been easy for me. I used to sell scratch cards but the business collapse. I'm very much grateful to GiveDirectly for helping me to help myself.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm more relaxed now than before, because I was thinking of renovating my house and the process has already started. My children school fees has been paid. I'm going to have a shop for myself soon. Life would have been difficult for me if GiveDirectly had not give me this money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought two bundles of zinc with some of my money for the renovation of my two bedrooms house with a shop attached to it. I paid part payment of my 8 children school fees with some of the money and I saved a little amount to add up to my second transfer to start a new business.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
By the grace of God, if I received this transfer, I want to change my house roof, because when the rain falls, the thatch is unable to divert all of the rain water and use the balance cash to do a business. Since, I had an accident in June 27, 2017 with a motorbike, I became disable now. Before I could build this house, my colleagues help me to cut sticks and carrying on the dubbing of this house. This is not my home, but when I had the accident, it was these people that took me as their son and work on me until I'm in this form. Even though, I'm not physically fit, but by the grace of God, I can stand among the living. I am a high school graduate of the Annie Ben William Senior High School in 2013. I have been in this village for more than four years, and the house I'm in belongs to me. No doubt, receiving this cash, will help me used some of the money to change the thatch to zinc, and used the balance to get into business in sustaining myself until God can carry me. At my stage, I can't do any physical work, I can regret seeing other people raising my children, but what I will do? Because I'm crippled. So I just have to bear it.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My biggest happiness is that, I thank God that I didn't died during my accident and I can see my children that make me happy. Because of my condition, no war in our country, I'm also happy. If war comes, where will I go? And also the present of Givedirectly by helping a crippled man like me in giving me cash, and I feel happy that God has answered my prayers and I also feel that no rain will disturb me, that cause me to be the most happiest person in this village. Givedirectly will always be in my prayer point.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Since I had the accident, my leg has been the major challenge for me, because no money to do a redress, my Doctor told me to be going for redressed, because of lack of money, I have not gone there. This foot you are seeing has iron in it, every time doctor need to look at it, because there is no funds. So I can't go to the hospital. When I go pee, my pee can be red light the trousers that is on me, because no proper treatment. To get the fitting food it is not easy, I have sell cigarettes inorder to survive. I don't feel comfortable of selling it, but what I will do. This is my only source of surviving.
