How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now as I am in the process of extending my house from four metres to five. There was congestion in the house as we had little space to put our household equipements. I will now live comfortably with my 5 sons in the house after the extension. I have also bought 10 bags of 50kg maize which will ensure us not to go hungry during the coming lean season. Thank you so much.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well in giving out free unconditional cash transfers as it helps us a lot in solving our livelihood problems. I know life's problems will always be there, but increasing the amount of transfers will at least help reduce many of such problems.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent the second transfer buying housing materials such as nails, iron sheets and saved some to pay builders. I want to extend my house from four metres to five so that we can live in comfortably. I also bought ten 50kg bags of maize for household consumption.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am really grateful for being considered in this program. I will now be able to build a big house which can accommodate all of us. I have been also struggling to have farm inputs. With the cash, i will be able to buy fertilizer so that i can improve food production. I will also buy food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy when i have enough money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge has been food. We usually harvest little because we lack farm inputs.
