Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so excited when i got enrolled in the programme, and when the transfers came i was more than excited because i knew that this money will change my life forever.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is we now have a bicycle for easy transportation and we now have adequate food and it is all good since I and my family we are happy.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have used the transfer to buy 7 bags of maize which I'm using for food,i bought a bicycle which we are using for transportation since our village is far from schools , hospitals and markets so this bicycle is going to be helping us to access these social services. I also bought a sleeping matress and blankets, plus a few kitchen utensils.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am so happy to have been enrolled in the project. As you can see, the floor of my house is made of sand and the wall is not plastered. When I receive this money, I will buy cement and other building materials which will help me put a cement floor in my house and plaster the walls of the house. I also don't have a matress. We sleep on a mat so this money will help me buy a matress. At least we should start sleeping on a comfortable place. On top of that, I will buy kitchen utensils because we don't have enough right now.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest during the harvesting season because we have enough food to eat. Even though I don't harvest enough but at least that season is better off than during the farming season.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is hunger. I depend on farming to find food. However, the maize I harvest is not enough to last till the next harvesting season. As such, sometimes we sleep on an empty stomach.
