Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my cash, I was so happy since I was sure that some of the challenges that I have been facing will finally come to an end.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these payments is that in the past I could not afford to purchase fertiliser and I used to apply pigs manure in my farm such that I always had low yields..But this year, I have bought fertilizer and I have all hope that I will have higher yields since the fertility of the soil will be restored.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Firstly, I bought agricultural materials as I am planning on growing crops in the next farming season..So I bought 2 bags of fertilizer at a price of $120 with an aim of increasing maize growth.
I then bought food that will be enough for my whole family..I got 5 bags of maize at an approximate amount of $100 and I have hope that It will take me until early months next year.
Lastly, I have started a transportation business as I managed to purchase a motorcycle which my husband Uster, will be using..For now the business have started and everything is going on well.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Recieving this money will make me buy fertilizer for the next planting season. I will buy three bags of maize which will cost me a total of $180 because each bag is sold at $60. This will make me harvest ten bags of maize which would sustain my family of three for ten months.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the month of August I was happy because we had a tombstone unveiling of my grandfather. There were lots of food such as Thobwa, rice and meat. We also danced throughout the ceremony.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge that I am currently facing is a financial challenge. I rely on casual jobs and I am able to make $2 a day which makes it difficult for me to buy fertilizer for my farm. I have a half acre land where I plant maize, soybeans and groundnuts. For my farm yield to be high I need to be able to buy three bags of maize which cost $180.
