How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because my children are accessing better services from private school. For instance they can now speak some English and write which they could not when they were in Local Government schools. Secondly, I now own a phone which has enabled me to keep in touch with my relatives and friends never had in my life and I can communicate with my relatives and friends. Before these cash transfer, I could not afford to buy a phone for myself.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by enabling me get things which I never had in my life like bulls for ploughing. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have spent my second transfer for purchasing Livestock (2 bulls), bought Agricultural tools ( a wagon and chains), paid a debt and repossessed my farm land and bought food ( cassava flour).

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness to see that I paid the debt, paid dowry for my wife, and I now sleep on a bed with a mattress unlike before.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment I received the transfer, I was so happy because I have never held such an amount of in my life and the money would relieve me from the debt I had.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer was spent to pay a debt, bought two cows and three goats that was paid as pride price to my in-laws, a mattress and bed as well.

When I receive this money, I will use some for bride price and also pay school fees.

The happiest part of my day is in the evening when am sitted with all my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is looking after my children as a single father.
