How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
From the moment I received the cash transfers, my life became different. I bought enough food to feed my family and basic necessities like clothes for my family. I also spent the cash transfers to treat myself when I was ill. I am very glad that my children are now studying at school and I am very sure of their continuity at school because I bought pigs that I am currently rearing.
However, before the GiveDirectly cash transfers, I had many plans but with nowhere to get money to fulfill all of them at once. I had an incomplete house, unpaid school fees and generally the future of my two children was unpredictable.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to send me the cash transfers that have uplifted me. It also did well to send us unconditional cash transfers.
On the other hand, I have not seen any wrong that GiveDirectly has done to my community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer to start the construction of a two roomed house. I also spent some money on plastering my house. The remaining balance of money is being spent on buying food and paying school fees. Unfortunately, UGX 265000 was stolen from my house.
