How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am Kula Kamara from Bapa town, Bomi County Liberia. Since I started receiving cash transfer from Givedirectly, I planned to build my house and eat nutritional food.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly helped me through the cash transfer program. I am presently preparing to build my own house due to the cash received from Givedirectly. I wasn't thinking of building due to lack of money. I was hustling to get my daily bread through farming before Givedirectly program came to this village. I was lucky to have been eligible for the cash transfer. Today life is much better for me due to the cash received from Givedirectly. All is well in this village and I will forever be grateful to Givedirectly and those who contributed in helping me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I cash out and bought hundred pieces of bricks, two bags rice and two bundles zinc.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to rebuild my house and make it more decent and comfortable for my children and me. I am a single mother right now, my husband left me when I give birth to our second child and I haven't seen him for over a year now. The house I am staying in now with my children is not in a good condition anymore, that is why I want to rebuild it and I know through the help of GiveDirectly transfer, this goal will be achieved soon.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by helping us unconditionally without any strain being attached to it, they are also kind and patient with us during interviews. I don't know of anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well, the program is okay to me.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my recent transfer to buy some building materials for my house project, I used some of it to buy food also for my children and me since providing for them is a serious challenge to me.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am temporarily staying in my former spouse compound. I will build myself a compound if I am successful. I will also invest in Business, I can't afford money to start selling. The two kids I have father left them with me and went his way. I will start business inorder to support them.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Whenever I see my two kids by me, I can become happy, although things are not really fine with me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Taking care of my two kids is really breaking me down. For the past five months my spouse left me with the pregnancy of my last son, I haven't seen him up to the time I delivered. I am struggling with them alone. Although, at time his family help me, but it can't be sufficient. Getting food for them is also a challenge for me.
