How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The only goal I had set was to improve my business but when I received my recent transfer I used portion to clear my son school fees and also invested portion into my business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my mind GiveDirectly did well by helping us to improve our business and take care of our children school fees. I have not seeing anything that GiveDirectly did not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I added portion of my money into my business and the balance I used it on my son school.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was on the farm digging charcoal when I received the message that I have money in my phone. It was the first time that I ever felt so happy, since I mysteriously lost my two eldest children, one year ago. They dies at ages 27 and 24 years. This money received has brought me so much joy because given the type of work that I do for living. I go under the sun everyday to burn wood to produce charcoal. When I received this money, I was so happy that I paused my work and started dancing while praising God for GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I have started receiving payments from GiveDirectly, I feel that my family and I lives are about to improve. The difficulties of where and how to earn money to build a better house for my family and I have ease. Because, building a better house has been one of our (husband and I) major challenge. Receiving this cash transfer from GiveDirectly has relief us of that challenge. I am convinced that my family and I will soon have a new house where we can live comfortably.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have planned to spend this my first transfer on buying zinc to start the construction of my house. I have three children and a husband to care for. We live in a mini house that was built long ago. The house is too old that almost every parts of the roof leaks. It has a thatch roof and an earth floor, which is very uncomfortable. Thank God that I have received this plenty money to think of building a better house for my family and I to live in.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have had a shop that was running actively before it collapsed due to some excess spending. I have since had the desire to refill my shop but the lack of funding has been a hindrant. Receiving GD transfer will enable me start business in my shop again, and this will help my family a whole lot.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought me joy over the past six months is the well being of all of my family members. With all of our struggles, we're grateful that God is always keeping us healthy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My family current challenge is having herself a building. Weve decided to build our own house after a while of living in rental house and encountering the challenges associated with it.
