Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Yes, my new goal is to generally improve my farming. I want to buy more chicken for rearing and also use my farm more by planting crops such as beans.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the joy that I have that I get from having bought some chicken for rearing. The eggs from these chicken help meet some of my household needs such as food. I have always wanted to have an alternative source of income to help us with some of the needs as a family. I am glad that the dream has been finally achieved.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to have bought a dairy cow for rearing. Apart from the source of milk that the cow will give, the sale of the extra milk will be a source of income and help us meet our daily needs. It will also help cut down the money spent on buying milk and instead invest in other projects.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goals for the next four months is to be able to buy a cow. Livestock are a great investment for us at the village since it is a form of security and an assurance that we can meet any financial emergencies without having to struggle a lot. I plan to do this by continuously taking part in the merry go round without fail and using the proceeds to buy a dairy cow. Proceeds from my small poultry project shall also be of great assistance to me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest differences in my daily life in the last four months is the fact that I have been able to be consistent in my merry go round contributions and been able to start up a poultry keeping project from those contributions. This has greatly boosted my level of income and given me the ability to raise a happy family that enjoys better living standards than the one we had before we received these transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months I expect that my poultry keeping project shall have improved by a great extent. I shall also have improved my maize selling business as well and raise the general living standards of my family. I am so much indebted to GiveDirectly for the support they have offered so far.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago as I have been to diversify my sources of income. This is because I have been able to start selling my farm proceeds after setting aside some for my family consumption. In addition to this, I have been able to build a chicken coop. This is a major step towards achieving my goal of starting a poultry keeping project.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new life goal for the next four months is to start poultry keeping project. I settled on this since its starting cost is lower and it can be managed alongside other projects. It will also be a permanent reminder in my life of GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have been able to provide my family needs on time without much struggle. This is because I have been able to improve on my farming practices hence an increase in my farm produce. This has ensured food security for my family hence I no longer buy most of the farm produce.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I believe that my life will have changed in the next six months in that I will have started poultry keeping project. I will be saving part of the income generated from this project and use the remaining amount to cater for my family. In addition to this, I will have increased the size of land under potato and beans cultivation. Since I do not have enough piece of land to carry out this activity, I am planning to lease a farm where I will plant these crop. This will increase my yields hence I will be able to sell more of my produce after setting aside some for my family consumption.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I am currently employed by the county government as an Early Childhood development teacher. There has not been a steady salary from this government. Therefore, in days that we are paid so late or not paid all, the transfers has always helped me buy food and other basic requirements for my family. I am not sure how I would have managed without these transfers because they really support me a great deal. I was also able to buy maize seeds and fertilizer on time and I am expecting to have some good harvest.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to buy some chicken for rearing in the next few months. The eggs from these chicken will be sold and the income from this will be added on top of what I get from working as a teacher.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I no longer strain looking for money for my daily use. My children are able to feed well and have the daily needs such as food and other school requirements. Before, my children were forced to go to school sometimes without some requirements and this made me feel uncomfortable as a parent for not being able to provide for them. I am so happy now that I am able to look into all their needs, thanks to the monthly transfers we get from Givedirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation is to ensure that my children study well and that I am able to provide for all their needs. I wish to buy or be in a process to own plot of my own and develop it. I expect that we will be living a more decent live than we are now and enjoying life!

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have ever faced in life is lack of school fees, sometimes I used to be sent back home due to fee arrears. Since my parents didn't see the value of educating me as a girl, I had to do casual work during holidays and weekend so as to raise money to pay my schools fee.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon as this is when I will be back home from school as I am teacher by profession. I enjoy this time because I will be taking care of my babies whom I had left with my neighbour while I was away.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to use the transfer on educating my four children in primary by ensuring that I pay their school fee in time.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am so proud of is successfully completing my O level education, its hard for a girl from the village to achieve this kind of level as most drop out of school for early marriages because girl child education is not that valued in my community.
