How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I sleep in a cemented descent house now and I am very happy for this achievement. In addition, I have owned oxen and an ox-plough that have made farming easier for me and I believe I will have increased yields this season since the planting was done in time. Previously, I ploughed my farm land late because the oxen owners were not willing to give out their oxen before they finish with their farms. I also didn't have enough money to buy cement and pay labour for plastering my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to give me financial support that I used to purchase oxen, an ox-plough and plastering my house. On my side, GiveDirectly has only done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase 16 bags of cement, clothes, food, paid labour for plastering my house, my daughter's school fees and paid off a debt that enabled me to repossess my piece of land that had been taken by the money lender.
