How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My plans previously have been building my new house and renovating my deplorable house. I have been working so hard to do these works. Therefore, as soon as I received my recent transfer, I bought 2 bundles of zinc and 1 carton of mixed nails to roof my house. I also used part of my transfer to compensate contractors working on my house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own understanding, GD has been doing so well in implementing this unique program that has changed my life for good. They have made me to own a house for myself. I thank GiveDirectly so much for helping to transform my life through their great financial assistance.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My husband and I are living together with our children. We have been planning on how to generate more money to complete our house that we were building before GiveDirectly could come into our village to help us. We also been planning to renovate our old house and improvè our business because the business is not constant. It is off and on. So, when I receive the transfer from Givedirectly, I planned with my husband for us to work on our plans that we had. We split up the transfer amongst our plans, portion of it went towards our new house we're building which is almost completed. The other portion went towards our old house for renovation and the other portion was used on business materials or goods and my children's education to give them a better future. I can't really imagine how happy I am right now. I am grateful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
We were told that GiveDirectly was not a governmental agency or organization and I have believe and seen it because of the way the GiveDirectly agents conduct themselves. GiveDirectly have made so many poor people who never knew their way out of poverty become self-reliance. There is so much improvement in the town because of GiveDirectly. I thank God for GiveDirectly because they have made me to achieve my dreams.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The house I live in is so old, it is not in a good condition.I used to make business before. My business was not going too well. I've been hoping to get money to add up. Sadly, I couldn't get enough money. I was worried. I'm so thankful for the GiveDirectly cash program.I was overwhelmed when I received my transfer. GiveDirectly has made a great impact in my life. With this program, after receiving all of the transfers my business will improve and I will not have to worry anymore. I'm thankful that my life will get better.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Even though I had one source of income from fishing, GiveDirectly's transfer has positively transitioned my entire life. I am able to gather enough food for my household. I am also able to improve my business by purchasing more goods and also I am finally able to initiate my building project. All of the above achievements has been the biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My husband is a fisherman. We only had one source of income from fishing. Nonetheless, if my husband is unlucky to catch enough fish on particular day, there will be no food at home for us to feed. Meanwhile, when I received my transfer, I bought some materials for my canoe. I also used portion of my transfer to pay my children tuition for this academic year 2021/2022. Similarly, the remaining money was used to buy zinc for my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to extend my present business, use portion of it to build new structure since the one I'm in is gradually breaking down due to rainfall and use the balance to make a portable farm that will sustain my family and I.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The news that brought me so much joy this few day is that certain NGO known as Nafah came to us and they said they will be helping the fishermen with safty jacket. I was happy because my husband is a fisherman and he he's the one sustaining us, I can worry when he go on the sea without any safty mention.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest challenge right now is that my husband and I bought some materials that will help us to start our new building but the road condition is very bad to bring them here.
