Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to invest in farming. I will grow cabbage buying seeds at KES 2000. This will occupy about half an acre. I will be using the rest of the money on crop protection. I will be harvesting the cabbages in the next four months. I think I may use it to pay school fees for my children.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the income that I currently make from selling milk. Three months ago, the dairy cow that I bought through a merry go round using the transfers, calved! I am getting 4 liters of milk per day. I sell the milk at about KES 120 per day and remain with some for household consumption. As a result, I can use the money to meet daily household needs such as buying vegetables and rice. with more ease than before when I did not have a source of income like this four months ago.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have a better life because I will be having farming capital from the sale of cabbages that I am just about to grow. I will make it sustainable by ensuring that I use part of the proceeds to run more vegetable farms. The income I will be getting from the dairy cows will also be continuing. GiveDirectly will have left an indelible mark in my life and that of my entire village. We are so grateful that we come to be the beneficiaries of this organization.
